Who is suitable for Invisalign clear aligners?

Invisalign clear aligners are suitable for most cases where you have crooked teeth but are conscious about having any brackets or wires on display as with fixed braces. They can be used to treat a wide range of cases, including crooked teeth and closing gaps.
How are clear aligners made?

Dental impressions are made which are sent to our high skilled dental technicians who will digitally scan your impressions using state of the art scanners digitally plan the ideal tooth position.
We will discuss your treatment plan with you, how many aligners are needed, how long it will take and whether you will need any attachements or polishing. Invisalign attachments are discreet tooth coloured dental composite bonded to the surface of your teeth, which helps the positioners to grip securely and help with tooth movements such as rotations. Polishing or slenderising involves gently polishing in between the contacts of your teeth in order to make some space for the the teeth to move.
We will show you a digital simulation of the expected result and once you are happy with the plan, the dental technicians will digitally print a series of dental models on which the positioners are fabricated. We will check the fit of the clear aligners and then carry out the polishing and place attachments if necessary. You will then wear the positioner and only remove for eating and cleaning the teeth, and change to the next positioner when instructed. The Dentist will review you to ensure everything is progressing well.
At the end of your treatment, we will usually fit a fixed retainer and provide you with a removable retainer as well.
Does Invisalign hurt?

You may initially experience some discomfort when the aligner is first fitted, this will usually be a feeling of tightness or tenderness. The symptoms usually subside very quickly and you will soon not notice wearing the aligners and they will feel very comfortable.
