Your National Smile Month
Here at YSC we have been celebrating National Smile Month!
What is National Smile Month?
It is a campaign run by the Oral Health Foundation charity,
that aims to spread four important messages for better oral health:
Brush teeth for two minutes, last thing at night and one other time during the day, with a fluoride toothpaste
Clean between your teeth every day
Cut down how much and how often you have sugary foods and drinks
Visit a dentist regularly
Good oral health has many benefits, not only for your teeth and gums but your general health too. Good oral health can even improve your quality of life.
Periodontitis (Gum disease) , has been linked with a number of general health conditions
Oral Health related issues
Problems which may be caused or made worse by poor oral health include:
Heart disease
Stroke
Diabetes
Giving birth to a premature or low-birth-weight baby
Respiratory (lung) disease
